2008 Golf House Tennessee Interns

 

Marco Born, Marketing & Public Relations Intern

         Marco is a Graduate student in Sport Management at Middle Tennessee State University. He received his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with a major in Management from Middle Tennessee State University in May of 2007. Marco works daily with the Executive Offices of the Tennessee Golf Foundation, located at Golf House Tennessee in Franklin. He assists with all promotions, marketing, media and membership outlets of all three Associations. He will also assist with fundraising activities for the Tennessee Golf Foundation and sponsor related activities for all Associations. Marco was a two-time Division I All American and a two-time National Doubles Champion, while being a 4-year letterman with the MTSU Men’s Tennis Team. He has also been a Graduate Assistant with the MTSU Athletic Marketing Department this past year. He resides in Murfreesboro, TN and is originally from Germany.

 

Andrew P. Reynolds, Junior Golf Academy Intern

            Andrew joins the Golf House Tennessee from Harding University, where he received a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration in May 2008. This summer, Andrew is working with the Junior Golf Academy at Golf House Tennessee. He reports and works daily with the Director of the Academy, completing administrative prep work for each incoming group of students, managing and interacting with the students, and conducting instructional video preparation in the indoor facility. Andrew was a member of the Men’s Golf Team at Harding University, where he had two top-5 finishes during his career. He is from Huntsville, AL, where he worked at Huntsville Country Club from 2000-2003.

 

Ashley W. Parrott, The First Tee Nashville VinnyLinks Intern

            Ashley is a junior at the University of North Carolina at Greenboro where she is working on her B.S. in Recreation and Parks Management with a concentration in Commercial Recreation and minor in Business. She has been a member of the UNCG Women’s Golf Team since 2005. Ashley was a Runner-up at the TN Women’s Amateur Championships in 2007. She will be The VinnyLinks at Shelby Park intern for summer 2007. The VinnyLinks is a nine-hole Metro Parks golf course where the programs and activities of The First Tee Nashville are conducted.  The Learning Center is 7,500 square feet and features classrooms, computer lab and social areas. Ashley will be a mentor for the students who will participate in The First Tee programs. Her hometown is Johnson City, TN. 


Jacqui Concolino Golf House Tennessee/ Vanderbilt Intern

Jacqui Concolino is a rising senior attending Vanderbilt University on a golf scholarship.  She is majoring in Human and Organization Development while competing in Division I athletics. Following her career at Vanderbilt University Jacqui will continue to play golf on a professional level.  She believes that it takes a unique personality and drive, in which she possesses, to be a successful professional golfer.  Currently Jacqui is working with fellow Vanderbilt men’s golfer Jon Curran as an intern at the Tennessee Golf Foundation.  The internship is part of an extensive academic regiment to complete the H&OD major experience. Athletically Jacqui was Named Duramed FUTURES Tour First Team NGCA Division I All-American after tying for ninth place at the NCAA Championship. At years end she was the highest rated player in the SEC (3rd in nation) at the end of 2006-2007 season.  As a freshman Jacqui was named Second Team All-American by Golfweek magazine and the NGCA -- first freshman in program history to receive the honors as well as first freshman in program history to earn the distinction as First Team All-SEC member.

 

Jon Curran Golf House Tennessee/ Vanderbilt Intern

         Jon is a rising senior at Vanderbilt University.  He is majoring in Human and Organization Development.  While at Vanderbilt he has played on the Men’s Golf team and competed in the National Championship during his sophomore season.  He has worked with the American Junior Golf Association as a player representative while in the junior ranks.  There he assisted the players and families and acted as a lies one between the families and the organization.  He was named with 2007 NCAA All-American and All-SEC honors, finished 2nd in the West Regional Championship and 8th in the NCAA National Championship.  Jon works alongside Jacqui Concolino in the Tennessee Golf Foundation.  Originally from Hopkinton, Massachusetts, Jon now lives in Nashville, Tennessee.

Luke FLENER, Marketing & Public Relations Intern

Luke is a senior Public Relations and Oral Communcation major from Lipscomb University. He works daily with the Executive Offices of the Tennessee Golf Foundation, located at Golf House Tennessee in Franklin. He assists with all promotions, marketing, media and membership outlets of all three Associations. He also will also assist with fundraising activities for the Tennessee Golf Foundation and sponsor related activities for all Associations. He has also worked with the Titans Radio Network and the Lipscomb Athletic Marketing Department. He is from Glasgow, KY.   


Justin FICKBOHM, Junior Golf Academy Intern

Justin comes to Golf House Tennessee from the University of Iowa where he is pursuing a degree in Communications. This summer, Justin is working with the Junior Golf Adademy at Golf House Tennessee for nine weeks during the summer. He reports and works daily with the Director of the Academy, completing administrative prep work for each incoming group of students, managing and interacting with the students, and conducting instructional video preparation in the indoor facility. Justin is also a licensed varsity basketball and football official in Iowa, and has experience as a camp counselor. He is from Algona, IA.

The First Tee Nashville VinnyLinks Intern
Gabby will be The VinnyLinks at Shelby Park intern for summer 2007. Gabby is a member of the University of North Carolina at Greenboro golf team and is working on her B.S. in Business and Economics. The VinnyLinks is a nine-hole Metro Parks golf course where the programs and activities of The First Tee Nashville are conducted.  The Learning Center is 7,500 square feet and features classrooms, computer lab and social areas.   Gabby will be a mentor for the students who will participate in The First Tee programs. Her hometown is Auburn, NY.
